What We Offer

Nelson City Dance Hall is a Texas Honky Tonk-themed facility for corporate parties/events, weddings/receptions, and other private functions. Texas music enthusiasts can rent the facility to showcase and celebrate.

The main two-story wooden building is complete with kitchen, serving area, bar, and dance floor and stage. The facility features an outdoor patio and an outdoor "town" that serves as a backdrop for events.

The main dance hall building is a true Texas encounter made of pine, cedar, and cypress and built in the 1929 dance hall tradition.

The dance floor is hard wood with plenty of wooden tables and benches around it for seating and dining. The stage is just four feet above the dance floor and its backdrop opens to the twinkling stars or Harvest Moon of the Texas sky.

The old-fashioned bar is complete with barstools made from old milk cans and seats pulled from tractors.

Nelson City -- A Texas State of Mind

Some History and More

For a true Texas encounter you really need to leave the city, because it's in the country where dance halls begin. They have served as the small town's courting stage, musician and singer's sounding stage and the dance lover's dream.

Musicians enjoy playing here because of the family atmosphere and the acoustics, and as one put it, "It's the most beautiful dance hall in this part of Texas." With the beautiful Texas sky as a backdrop, it's hard to argue with that statement. Owners John and Mario Alvarado created a stage that dreams are made of. Standing just four feet above the dancefloor, it opens up to the twinkling stars or the harvest moon, and what a view you have.

By combining the fun of a Texas honky-tonk with the quiet hospitality of a small town America, John and Mario have created a quiet, relaxed destination in the country.
